My newest obsession...

Hey everybody!!! I hope yall are having a great week!

For those of you who know me, you probably know that I tend to get obsessed with things rather easily... *cough cough one direction, harry potter, hunger games*

Well this week the most adorable boy band in the world, One Direction, came out with their new single entitled One Way or Another. I know, its not really a new song. But they did a cover of it to raise money for Comic Relief, a british organization that raises money for people living in Africa.

Well the boys decided that instead of making a music video that was really expensive, they were going to make it themselves while touring in London, Japan, and Ghana where they volunteered with Comic Relief. The result...awesomeness and my new favorite song.

I could seriously go on for a while about this so i'll just let you see their real personalities here...enjoy!!! ;)

Love and 1D for life,
Em ;)

Scrapbookin' it up!

Hey ladies and gents!!! I hope yall are doing good!!!

Today was an incredible day! I went with a few ladies from Miss KHHS to a nursing home 20 minutes away from where I live to give out teddy bears for valentines day :) Those men and women were some of the sweetest people that I have ever met. A few people started to cry just because we gave them a tiny bear; it was one of the only things they owned. We all started to tear up as a few people kissed their bears and screamed thank you! We got to bowl with them and it was hilarious!!! I hope to go back soon ;)

When we got home, we had to get straight to work on my scrapbook page!!!  For Miss KHHS, we have to do an interview that is worth 15% of our final score. Before we go in, we give them a scrapbook page that we have made for a few minutes so they can get a sense of who we are, and so they can know what questions to ask. It is a really cool way to let them get to know you before you even get to meet them!!!

Here is what the two sides of my scrapbook:

This pretty much sums up my life!!! It talks about my family, Dana, SLU, Christ, books, Relay for Life, Down Syndrome, Autism, VBS, sign language, and New York City (my favorite place to visit) ;) Hopefully it will be a good way to start my interview!!!

Love and lots of scrapbook work,
Em :)

Happy Singles Awareness Day!!!

Hey everybody!!! Happy Singles Awareness Day!!! This is also more commonly known as Valentines Day ;)

In the words of Sierra Boggess:

I hope you all had a great Valentines Day! Even if you aren't in a relationship, it is a fun holiday to celebrate with your friends and family!

My day started with my dad giving me the sweetest card on my way to school! He always makes sure to take care of all of his girls on valentines day ;) Then my mom came to school and brought me a card, a flower, a Starbucks gift card, Hershey's Kisses, and put all of them in this adorable wiener dog box!

I came home after school and I found this cute ringpop with lips on it from my parents! It was so sweet, but Marie didn't really appreciate it!!!

I want to leave you with three quotes about love from my favorite author, Victor Hugo, and a verse ;)

Love and lots of candy,
Em :)

“The greatest happiness of life is the conviction that we are loved -- loved for ourselves, or rather, loved in spite of ourselves.”
― Victor Hugo

“To love another person is to see the face of God.”
― Victor Hugo, Les Misérables

“The power of a glance has been so much abused in love stories, that it has come to be disbelieved in. Few people dare now to say that two beings have fallen in love because they have looked at each other. Yet it is in this way that love begins, and in this way only.”
― Victor Hugo,
Les Misérables

1 Corinthians 13:4–8a
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails ... (NIV)

Welcome to the nuthouse!

Hey everybody! As it says above...welcome to the nuthouse!

If you know me, you know I am horrible at keeping up with blogs. I am determined to follow this one through though ;) This blog won't really have any theme, just whatever is going on in my life!

Before we get started here are the top 12 things need to know:

1. I am a junior in high school and duel enrolled. This keeps me busy all the time!

2. I am currently envolved in my high school's pageant and having the time of my life!

3. I have an almost 13 year old sister with special needs named Dana. She is basically the bomb.com ;)

4. I am a devout Christian and my dad is the pastor of Trinity Baptist Church :)

5. I am a singer at heart, and you can probably catch me singing or humming under my breath 24/7.

6. I am obsessed with all things broadway. If you need any help with Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, Wicked, Love Never Dies, or anything else...i'm the girl you need to talk to.

7. I am an extreme Harry Potter and Hunger Games nerd. I read my first HP book when I was 7 and have been obsessed ever since!

8. I love to read and am currently tackling an 1260 page book!

9. I have two kitties and two puppies. Tigger is a 24 pound orange tabby cat and Marie is a 6 month old grey tabby :) Zoey is a three year old weiner dog and Molly is a 5 year old mix :)

10. I am currently trying to break off my Diet Coke addiction, but its not going very well.

11. My favorite singer is Ramin Karimloo, but when I'm not listening to him or showtunes, I love Taylor Swift and One Direction :)

12.  I am learning sign language and it is pretty much the most awesome thing ever. So much more interesting and understandable than English!

Well there you have it! I hope you will enjoy keeping up with me and my family!

Love and craziness,

Em :)
